Bank of Granite honored the 27 Associate of the Year nominees from the Caldwell County school system during a banquet at Cedar Rock Country Club on April 25, 2006. Started in 1995 as a collaboration of school superintendent Dr. Tom McNeel and bank chairman John Forlines, the award is to recognize non-teaching and support staff for the important contribution they make to our schools. Ralph Triplett, Hibriten High School bus driver, was named Associate of the Year. He was presented with a $1000 check to be used at the school for projects of his choice.
