IOLTA Accounts

Interest on Lawyers' Trust Accounts, or IOLTA, are interest-bearing general trust accounts for attorneys who handle money belonging to clients. Lawyers must have all general client trust accounts established as IOLTA accounts by order of the N.C. Supreme Court and N.C. State Bar beginning in 2008.

Banks forward the income from these accounts to the State Bar's IOLTA program that funds law-related charitable causes. Bank of Granite has many IOLTA customers and is happy to provide this service to attorneys. Contact one of our offices to learn more.
